Thank you for visiting.
I'm very excited to be running for RVC 6 in the 2017 American Mensa election.
The election will be held from April 15 - May 31, 2017. Members must renew on time (by March 31 at 11:59pm) to be eligible to vote. If you have not yet renewed, do so today. Believe me, your vote does matter! In 2013, one candidate was elected by a one vote margin.
I invite you to take the time to learn more about me and my vision for Mensa. This organization has brought so many wonderful people and experiences into my own life. I will do my best to ensure that it continues to offer value to all of its members.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
I am an accountant for a family-owned construction subcontractor. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from University of Houston-Downtown in August 2015.
I've been married to the wonderful Jimmy Criss for almost five years.
My parents joined Lonestar Mensa in Austin (now Lone Star Mensa) together in 1985. I was born in December 1986. The running joke in my family has often been that I attended my first Mensa meetings while still in utero. Mensa was a large part of my upbringing. Between the two of them, my parents were LocSec, Vice LocSec, Treasurer, Secretary, Member-At-Large, Editor, Circulation Manager, and Proctor at some point in time. They also headed various SIGs, and our family was attending some Mensa event or other at least once a week.
I feel that Mensa is a dynamic and ever-changing organization. Our members have a wide range of interests and priorities, and it follows that Mensa membership will mean something different to every member. For me, Mensa is primarily, and most importantly, a social organization. While we have several worthwhile endeavors in addition to the social aspect, such as scholarships, community service and gifted youth resources, I firmly believe that everything comes back to personal interaction between members - whether in person or online.
If you have any questions for me that have not been answered, please email me. I will do my best to answer them here.
If I don't have enough information to answer, or if the answer is simply "I don't know," I'll tell you.
"I've never met her face-to-face, yet I know that she cares greatly for MENSA. She is innovative enough to bring outreach to members, regardless of their age, gender, or location."
